According to reports, producer of the film who invested approximately Rs. 75 crores are being offered as much as 150 crores for the rights of the film by Eros International even before the film has reached the half way mark in terms of production.

In this movie, Salman will be playing a sword tottering Indian version of gladiator scripted by him. Salman is seen fighting with a real lion. The film is set in the period of 1880 and is based upon the love story of a warrior "Veer" (Salman) and his clan of barbaric warriors "Pindaris", who were fearless warriors of the 19th century.

The story is based on the Pindari tribe from Rajasthan which was then not under British rule. It is the story of their struggle to remain independent against the colonial Britishers.
